Dates for 2024: 6-13 January and 16-23 March
Develop your off piste skills and mountain awareness. A combination of ski instruction and guided ski tours with Tom Saxlund (BASI 4) and Graham Frost (IFMGA guide). Participants will alternate days between Tom and Graham to gain a mix of technical instruction and practical application of skiing skills in touring situations.
Participants are grouped accordingly to ability in groups of up to 6.

The start of the week will focus on finding our ski legs and checking our technique and tactics against a “template of good skiing” (we will use a combination of external feedback, video and developing our own “noticing” skills). This will help us choose the right kind of development drills and practice activities to enable more efficient, effective and fun skiing. This in turn will open up more terrain possibilities!
Through the course we will be discussing and sharing route and safety decisions off piste (avalanche safety and risk assessment, route selection through hazardous terrain, skinning techniques, navigation, etc).
The aims of the week are to:
- Develop off-piste skiing skills
- Improve decision making and safe travel off-piste
- Get lots of skiing miles and explore the off-piste potential of the area
The price of £645 reflects 6 days guiding and instruction. Read previous blogs here for inspiration.
Accommodation is reserved at the Hotel Moiry on a half board basis payable on arrival. You will need a lift pass for 6 days costing approx chf 280 (reduced tariff available for senior citizens) or you can use a Magic Pass.
