A week of Guided Off Piste Skiing and Ski Touring in the Arolla Valley...

The Val d'Hérens has lots of challenging skiing accessed by touring from the 3 small lift areas. This is not an "extreme" skiing week (!) but aimed at skiers who can climb 1000+m and ski 40 degrees on day tours. As well as doing lots of skiing, there will be time for instruction on techniques for skiing on steeper ground, safety aspects of operating on steep ground (use of ropes etc), climbing while carrying skis, etc.

Possible objectives include the Tsena Refien, Vuibé Glacier and glacier descent to Evolene from Pointe de Vouasson.

For inspiration, see the blogs from 2015, 2016 and 2019.

Tsijiore glacier Ski Arolla

The week is based at Hotel Aiguille de La Tza in Arolla (see "how to find us") within easy reach of the ski lifts in Arolla, Evolene and Forclaz. This friendly, family run hotel has been recently refurbished and provides a warm welcome and authentic mountain hotel atmosphere for its guests with great food.

The price includes 7 nights half board (breakfast, and dinner) in a shared room and 6 days of guided skiing. Single rooms are available for a £425 supplement, subject to availability, (please specify on your booking form if you would like to request a single room). Packed lunches are available on request.
